I will now introduce the 9th Main Match
Players will take turns as the Border Patrol Officer attempting to stop contraband from passing through while allowing legal goods to pass through.
There are 8 types of goods, 5 legal goods and 3 contraband.
The legal goods are Wool, Grain, Lumber, Clay and Glass. The contraband items are Jewels, Weapons and Spices.
One player will be the Patrol Officer each round. The other 4 players will declare the goods they are attempting to pass through.
There will be 10 minutes allowed for open negotiations. Anything goes for negotiations.
After the 10 minutes, the Patrol Officer can choose for each player whether to allow the goods to pass through or to search them.
If the goods are allowed, the player will earn the value of any legal goods. Illegal goods are only scored at the end of the game.
If the goods are searched, the items are revealed.
If the player was truthful in their declaration, the Patrol Officer must pay the player the total value of the goods in question to the player.
If the player lied about their declaration, they must pay the Patrol Officer a penalty fine (but may keep any legal goods of the type they declared).
The values of the items are:
Wool and Grain are worth $1.
Lumber and Clay are worth $2.
Glass is worth $3.
The penalty for all legal goods is equal to their value.
Spices are worth $7 with a penalty fine of $4
Weapons are worth $9 with a penalty fine of $5
Jewels are worth $11 with a penalty fine of $7
When declaring goods, players will announce their true intentions in their confessional and then make a public declaration.
You may only attempt to smuggle one contraband item per turn. However, you may pay 3 Garnets to attempt to smuggle an extra contraband item.
The public declaration must follow these rules: You may only declare one type of good. You must declare a legal good. The amount of the good can be anywhere between 2 and 5 inclusive. You can not lie about the amount of items you are offering.
For example, say a player is attempting to pass 3 Wool and 2 Weapons. They must declare 5 of a legal good. e.g "5 Wool"
You may attempt to pass any differing legal goods e.g Wool and Lumber but you MUST declare them as the same good, and this counts as lying.
At the end of each round, the legal goods for all players will be revealed and the amounts paid. Contraband goods remain hidden and are paid at the end of the game.
You may hide any number of legal goods at the cost of 1 Garnet each. These will appear as Contraband to other players.
Players begin with $50 each.
After 10 rounds (every player has been Officer twice) the game will end, contraband items will be paid and bonuses will be given to the players who earned the most and second most of each legal good.
The player with the most Grain will earn an extra $35
The player with the most Wool will earn an extra $30
The player with the most Lumber and the player with the most Clay will each earn an extra $25
The player with the most Glass will earn an extra $10
Second-most Grain earns $15
Second-most Wool earns $20
Second-most Lumber and Clay earns $10
Second-Most Glass earns $5
After the bonuses are handed out, the players with the most money will earn a Token of Life. If there is a sole-winner, they will receive two Tokens of Life.
Then player with the least money will be the elimination candidate.
All players will receive 1 Garnet for every $15 they have at the end of the game
