Ahyoung, Eunji
I will now introduce the 9th Death Match
Twelve Janggi is won by capturing the opponent's king piece.
The playing board has 4 columns and 3 rows for a total of 12 squares.
The 3 squares closest to you will be your territory.
Both players will receive 4 different pieces and each piece will start in their designated positions.
Each piece may only move one space in their labeled directions and their roles are as follows:
General - Starts on the right side of your territory. Can move vertically or horizontally.
Minister - Starts on the left side of your territory. Can move diagonally.
King - Starts in the centre of your territory. Can move vertically, horizontally and diagonally (i.e every direction)
Man - Starts in front of the King. Can only move forward. When the Man enters the opponent's territory it will become a Feudal Lord*.
*Feudal Lord - Transformed from a Man. Can move in all directions except for diagonally backwards.
When the game begins, the starting player will move 1 piece by 1 square.
When a piece is captured that piece will become a captive and captives may be used as your own piece starting from the next turn.
However, you must use up a turn to place the piece back on the board. You may not place the piece in enemy territory or an occupied square.
If you capture a Feudal Lord, it reverts into a Man.
The game will end if you capture the opponent's King, or you are able to survive a turn with your King in your opponent's territory.
The player with more garnets will move first.
Here are the pieces and board.
