So I've rewatched the Yuntori part of the Zombie episode (I think it was on season 1) to get a feeling on how this would play out in a real competition. To my disappointment, the focus wasn't so much on the game and on the strategy part of it but on the relationship the two opponents used to have before they were split apart.
Not sure there is a way for us to practice this game this game, I don't think practice is what it takes this time. Looks like it's based a lot on bluffing and reading people, kinda like poker. That's a game I suck at in real life because I can't control my emotions and I'm way too easy to read, but online I think I can hold my cool. I hope we can come up on top if we put our mind to it.
In other news, I got a message from Kyungran congratulating me for the last match and also hinting that I could play this to help her instead of yourself if I wanted to. I politely declined. Wouldn't want to make a big scene about it but I just wanted you to know. I don't think we can PM with Eunji and eve if we could, she doesn't seem likely to want to help you over Kyungran if it came to that. So I think we'll have a real competition on our hands. I for one am really set on doing my best here, at least for my competitive nature, even if my skin is not on the line.

Oh doing your research! This is exactly why I felt you would be the perfect partner, I knew you would do your best to really figure out the game so you could be helpful I'm going to rewatch those episodes as well. There's more than one time they played this, but I can't remember how many. I do think the game is a lot about reading your opponent, but in an easier way than poker? There's limited moves you can make, only 3 options, so if we can think about what we would do in their shoes, that's the main thing I guess. And then try to be unpredictable so they can't read us as easily. But once we start we can get a feeling for the way they're going to play it. It really doesn't surprise me that she asked you to lose for her I knew I couldn't pick Hongchul for this because I couldn't trust that he wouldn't take her up on that offer. I had more faith in you though I won't mention it, no point making a thing of it at this stage of the game, but thanks for letting me know!

As we've talked before, as of now we're past the point where alliances can count in any way. In the final 3 Main Match, hoping we'll all be there, there will be no use of any two players working together as only one can win and that one doesn't get to make any decision. I'll want to defeat you just as much as you'll want to defeat me.
But, from what I hear, in the final Deathmatch which I obviously hope to attend, the previously eliminated players will have the option of helping one of the two contestants. So even if you weren't my original ally in this game, I'd have more to lose than to gain from sabotaging your DM as I'd be making you completely bitter towards me. Kyungran will certainly not like me if I do help her get eliminated but she won't despise me either. Beside, as mentioned, I am a pretty competitive person so winning means a lot to me, after all why would we be playing this entire ORG if it was otherwise?
It's too bad that on this particular DM, my research and competitive nature might not count for as much as I wouldn've wanted. Just as you said, the game will be more about reading the opponent and trying to be unpredictable yourself. I still hope we will do good.

Haha exactly. Here's to hoping we can get to the point where we're trying to defeat each other in the final 3 Yeah the other players all get to give an item to help one of the players in the final 2. I should've been trying harder to actually put myself in a good position for that, but at this point I think you're one of the few people left who actually likes me Oh well, just how it goes sometimes. I hope you've played a better social game than I have. Unless I'm with you at the end, in which case I hope you were more on par with me I still think you can be helpful, like in 12 janggi you were thinking a few moves ahead of how to set up the win, that sort of thinking could be good in helping to block something you might see them doing, or coming up with a way for us to win. I don't know if there's much practice that can be done? I'm going to try this weekend, but probably it's not going to do too much. More of an in the moment thing.

2 Xs - 5 spaces plus free turn, back do, two spaces
One of each - Back do, two spaces, three spaces
2 blanks - 4 spaces plus free turn, three spaces, two spaces
Just for easy reference of the possible outcomes for each throw we decide to do.

And thank you for helping me Jinho I really hope we don't go past 8, for both our sakes You're welcome. I'd probably be able to make it as far as 9 or 9:30 from my phone but I don't think this will take that much.

I would say 2 blanks makes sense for the first throw?

They will probably throw X & 0 to be safe. At least that's what I would do.

So it's trickier here. If we do one of each and they do two blanks, she'll catch my piece. But they could think ahead and assume we'll throw 2 Xs to stop that, and then get the 5 spaces plus an extra turn. What do you think?

Shall we go for one X and one Blank just like they did or try to surprise them?
