I have been waiting for this day to arrive ever since I received the mysterious letter inviting me here. I'm excited and terrified at the same time! Have you ever watched 'The Genius' before?I have. I've seen all four seasons - the first three I marathon watched and the fourth I followed live as it aired. I love it so much. I believe I was at least partly responsible for getting our esteemed host, Bandage Man , to watch the show. Not since I was 12 years old watching Survivor for the first time has a reality television show drawn me in so completely like The Genius did. I knew from the first episode that it was something special. So special, that I ordered the Horror Race board game from Korea as soon as it was released. So special, in fact, that it has compelled me to return to the world of ORGs after swearing I never would. Even if I'm the first person out, I'll be happy to have taken part. How do you think you will approach the games? As I go into each Main Match, I will have two goals in mind: 1) Don't lose 2) Avoid doing anything that could compel the loser to pick me for the Death Match. It's a simple as that. Winning doesn't enter into it for me. If I happen to win, that's nice, but it's not at all necessary for longevity in The Genius. I plan on finding the majority group wherever possible, and being a loyal member of that majority. I will put forward my ideas, but I will not lead. If someone on our side loses, our leader can be blamed. If someone on the other side loses, our leader can be targeted. I don't want to be the leader. I want to be seen as intelligent in the games, so that I'm not selected as a perceived easy beat in the Death Match. At the same time, I don't want to stand out as too much of a threat to win until much later in the game. Basically I intend to play fairly similarly to Kyungran, but I believe I have more of the killer instinct and raw mathematical/logical intelligence that she was perhaps lacking. Thinking about the garnets for a moment... given that there's no real prize besides the glory of winning here, I suspect that garnets will play more of a role in the games than they typically do on the show. Because of this I'll be hesitant to give mine away as part of deals etc, and on the other hand I'll try to solicit garnets from others whenever I can (without being too blatant of course.) What kinds of people are you looking to work with?
I'll work with anyone so long as it benefits me. Ideally there'll be a dominant player or two that I can hide behind. If anyone intentionally plays a chaotic trouble-maker style of game, messing up plans at every opportunity for the sake of it, I'd rather not work with them. I prefer people who I can rely upon to act in their own best interest - even if that means flipping or betraying at an opportune moment that make sense for them. I'll be doing the same when it makes sense for the immediate situation and doesn't impact my long term social standing too much! What are your thoughts on the more open format of this game? The open format is consistent with the real show, as in the contestants (and those eliminated) can talk between matches as well as watch the episodes filmed a few weeks earlier, so I'm fine with it. I'm not going to let it affect how I play, unless I pull some REALLY secretive dirty move in which case I'll own up to it before the episode "airs". As Tina Wesson says in the Australian Outback, "As they say in the Olympics, let the games begin!"
