Hello, Bandage Man. It's good to be here. Yup, I saw about 5 episodes of the show months ago and so I know the basic format. It's an intriguing concept, but at the end of the day, I still prefer Survivor. Things aren't as simple as they may appear, in the Genius game. But there's also always at least one way to ensure success. The aim is to think in a way which allows me to figure out a path to succeed. My theory is to aim to keep my garnet count low, but without making it too obvious that I don't want them. The way I see it, they're like a scoreboard- by looking at the garnet count, you can see who's top dog at any given time. This also gives incentive to the opposition to select someone to go up for death matches. Aiming to usurp the current head of the snake, which essentially can create an endless cycle. Something which I want to avoid. If I have amongst the lowest garnet count consistently, there's no incentive to pick me for a death match. Then, I can't lose. Simple ... I think. But anyway, I'm sure things will get complicated before too long. At this stage, low garnet count is just going to be my guide to move forward. I don't know how I'm going to fare in this format. I'm going to play it one day at a time and try to get on a bit of a roll. I'm happy to work with anyone. It just depends on what each individual game requires. I don't really know what skill I bring to this game- never having much success in other online games, but I'll do my best to keep up.
Also, I hope that we can get more than one match per week. As I hope that this game doesn't extend into late May- I don't know if I'm going to have much time online from late May onwards.

Love the thought process And as contestants are eliminated it will become easier and more likely to have multiple events per week. It's just that every game needs 100% attendance so the early games it's more of an investment but I'm sure that the game will not adhere strictly to once a week the entire way through. I hope not anyway

I think it makes sense? Like, if you've got someone with 7 garnets who you could go up against, why would you pick me with 0-2 garnets? What is this feature? To make things more confusing, I intend to target those with the lowest garnet counts to face off against me in the event that I'm selected for a death match. The idea is that if someone has already proven themselves with prior match wins, they're clearly a strong player. I intend to avoid these battles where possible. Additionally, if someone has a high garnet count, they're not going to be a threat to my advancement forward. They're not going to gun for me, as they most likely have an opposite strategy- that is, if they have a high count, they've shown their hand. They are aiming to accumulate as many advantages(garnets) as possible. That's a completely valid strategy, but it won't be one which I employ. On the other hand, someone with a low garnet count may either be unsuccessfully aiming to stockpile garnets, or they may be aiming to limit their garnet count-which is in direct conflict with my own approach. As such, I intend to eliminate them to promote my survival. I think there will basically be 3 schools of thought in this regard- 1- Players aiming to have the most garnets 2- Players aiming to have the least garnets 3- Players aiming to have an average amount of garnets, so as to blend in. Safety in numbers and all that jazz. But in my mind, the 2 dominant schools of thought will probably be the first 2. If I can bump up some of those in school 2 and school 3 up to school 1, by hopefully getting to become a tad power hungry, then I should be able to enjoy safe passage through to the Final 5/6. The trick will be in how to achieve this, I have a few ideas, which involve creating an agenda for them to become passionate about. But for more details, you'll need to stay tuned.

How will you reconcile having fewer garnets than most and potentially suffering against people who choose to use their garnets to gain advantages in the games?

Yeh it's a slight concern, but nothing major imo. That could result in me finishing last in a main match, so could any number of things. But it could actually end up benefiting me. Any garnets I get, I will either give to others in an attempt to fan their egos or to win favour. Alternatively, I may also use my garnets to gain advantages- but I'd probably rather giving them to others. Either way, I don't want to be sitting on garnets when the death match competitors are selected. The thing with people using garnets to gain an advantage in matches is that I can't really see most of the players using garnets at any one stage. They become more valuable with each passing round and so I think greed will become a major factor. Why spend 3 garnets to earn an advantage at the F9 when you could save them to use at the F8,7,5,4,3 and so on? It's just human nature. I would be extremely surprised to see this game unfold without multiple people holding on to garnets for too long. The gun players are going to reveal themselves within 3 rounds. They will be the front runners who want to play from the top and run the table. They may try to align with each other, but such a deal won't last. Paranoia and greed(once again) will set in. These gun players will use their bought advantages to try and knock each other out of the game and force other strong players out of the game. They will have reason to target each other, just like I have a reason to target others who are employing the low garnet count strategy. Except, unlike those with a low garnet count who will literally be unable to purchase advantages to use against their adversaries, those with the high garnet strategy will be able and (more than) willing to purchase anything they can to knock out their competitors.
So essentially, there's 2 likely outcomes as I see it. 1) People hold onto garnets. If unused, they become more valuable with each passing round. 2) Those with garnets to burn are likely to target threats to their game with their purchased advantages. Which in their case, will be others with high garnet counts.
This probably is coming off as super basic. But it's what I believe to be my best path forward right now.

Also, it appears as though Eunji, Dongman and Yoonsan are a part of a separate group or something... What's up with that?

It's probably nothing, but only those 3 have got a little garnet thing under their name. It's means nothing, I assume?

Should be fixed and you all have your proper groups. It should display your garnet count underneath your name as well.

I'm glad If you have questions about anything, feel free to ask. I'm happy to fill you in on whatever you want to know. Also, my thoughts don't usually travel in the most logical, linear fashion and as you probably already are aware, it can be tough to make sense of my thought process- so if I say something which you'd like me to elaborate on, or to explain in a different way, I'll to happy to oblige

Umm, impressions wise- I threw out a Waterboy reference in the library room and it's gone over everyone's head. Just trying to see if I connect with anyone off the bat. If someone gets it, 10 points to them and I'll try to work something with them, at least initially, cos why not? Something to bond over- in a game like this with no private messaging, and people looking around for someone to watch their back, a niche 'connection' like that is going to be all I need to do to get a working relationship right now. But regardless, I'm pretty adaptable. I'm going to do my best to find a way to get by. Most likely (but not exclusively) by creating some decent bonds ...
Oh also, my guess for main match #1 is that it's a variation on the game of cluedo. That would give the rooms some meaning- plus that sort of game would fit the theme quite well.
