Format:
You have each received one Garnet.
Garnets are a currency earned throughout this game, and they can be spent on advantages in the games as well as used in negotiations amongst yourselves.
Each round will begin with the Main Match.
The Main Match is a long form game that could take up to several hours. Think of these as board games rather than challenges.
The winners of the Main Match will receive a Token of Life. If there is a sole winner, they will receive two Tokens of Life.
Tokens of Life may not be assigned to someone else, save for the spare Token of Life issued to a sole winner.
The loser of the Main Match will become the elimination candidate and will face off against an opponent of their choosing in the Death Match. They cannot pick anyone with a Token of Life.
The Death Match is a one on one competition that may/may not feature involvement from other contestants. The loser of the Death Match is eliminated and all of their Garnets given to the winner who advances to the next round.
When only two players remain they will face off against each other in 3 Death Matches with the first to secure 2 victories being declared the ultimate winner.
Note: Eliminated players will have continued roles in the game. This may include but is not limited to conferring advantages in the Final Match, participating against the non-eliminated players in future Main Matches and providing a role for certain Death Matches.
How the game will be run:
Main Matches will occur (ideally) a minimum of once per week, usually on a Saturday or Sunday, however the exact times will be negotiated amongst the cast on a round by round basis. Matches will not occur until all participants are available.
Death Matches will be scheduled at the earliest convenience for the elimination candidates, but must occur before the next Main Match.
You are only allowed to pm players during the games. All players, including eliminated players are allowed to post publicly, except during games where eliminated players are not permitted to post anything or interact with the players in any way.
Starting from Round 6 I will be posting somewhat detailed Episode Recaps of events in Round 1. A weekly (regardless of pace for the actual matches) schedule will then be maintained for the "airing" of each episode. All PM's and posts excluding those with eliminated contestants and those in your Private Host Discussion thread will be viable for use in the recaps.
Rules:
- This game is CLOSED ID. Revealing ANY personal information (ie: real life identity, screen names, forum nicknames, AIM names, or any other contact information or identity information) is STRICTLY prohibited and will result in an IMMEDIATE elimination.
- Use of a proxy to hide your IP address is not allowed. If you absolutely need one for a specific reason, confer with a host.
- If you are approached by anybody about this game other than a host outside the game forums, let one of the hosts know and action will be taken as quickly as possible.
- All private messages should be kept and not deleted (for blogging purposes and so that episodes can potentially be written at the end of the season). This includes Outbox messages which are just as important. Please do not delete either.
- Any threats towards someone's life or physical well-being is absolutely not tolerated and will result in an immediate banning of the parties involved. If someone feels threatened by a joke, it will be considered a serious offense with serious punishment. These games are meant to be fun. Don't ruin someone else's.
- Events are scheduled to work with all involved players and events can easily be rescheduled with proper notification. If you do not show up to a planned event, you will be eliminated.
Expectations:
- Do not spoil the show. Some people playing have not seen it, some are halfway through. You know how good this show is, don't spoil it for the people who haven't seen it all. Obviously there is some leeway for images/gifs but just be conscious and courteous when making references.
- While sexual humor is fun here and there, too much of it can be ridiculous. We expect you to use your better judgment when making sexual jokes, remember: there may be people in the game who are too young to be exposed to sexual references.
- Your account is your account only, the hosts will not do anything to affect your experience such as reading unread pm's or sending pm's or posting on your behalf. This also means that you are agreeing that only you are using your account. However, the hosts will periodically log in to your account to read your pm's.
- Do not edit any posts. If you edit a post, you will receive a warning. If you continue to edit, the hosts will take action to penalize you.
- Taking screenshots of private messages and using them on the forum is PROHIBITED. If you are found to have done this, you will receive a penalty from the hosts. No questions asked. You may, however, quote a private message if you wish.
- If you have a complaint about a ruling, make a public post at the time, so that we may deal with it accordingly. We will address every complaint; however, do not think that we will easily accept every little nitpicking detail. Be respectful. If a judgment call has to be made, we will make it as fair and unbiased as humanly possible.
