You have no idea how devastated I am by this result. I would've been devastated with a lot of first boots from this cast but yours is especially tragic for me  You were fantastic even if you were only in one round. You were one of my favourite confessionals and I'm really sad to see you here so soon. I really hope you had fun, and if anything's wrong permission-wise let me know. I hope you stick around because your part in this is not done  |

The thing is, I don't really know what I could have done to avoid this.
Except for swapping out of watermelons into something else, but even then, I still would have been half involved in that group regardless. I guess I could've gone with my initial strategy and just sandbagged against a loss and just bid 1 for everything each round, but that would've screwed me in later rounds.
Maybe I should've just not posted anything in public before the main match. My sideline attempts to potentially create an early working relationship blew up in my face to the point where I actually had multiple people targeting me already inside round 1, which made things difficult. I realise that there's always someone who finishes last and having always made it relatively deep in every other game I've been involved in, I guess that I was due for an early exit. The format which kind of played into my weaknesses, didn't really help, but I was given a fair shot and so shouldn't complain. I was hoping that I'd be able to turn over a new leaf and win a challenge or two, for the first time- but they did me in in the end. Again. I practiced fairly comprehensively and I came into the DM quite prepared, I just came up short on the day and was beaten by a better player.
If you have any feedback about what I did wrong and where I could've improved, I'd love to hear it. Coming last is pretty tough to take as I invest a lot into these games, which is a big reason why I've only played a handful of them. I didn't really get my game going this time, which is disappointing. When this game is all finished, I'll pretty much just be an after thought. So I wish everyone else the best of luck in facing what is to come.
Also, thanks for hosting- pioneering something like this mustn't have been easy and I can see that a lot of work and consideration has gone into everything.

The one thing I was waiting for you to do, was change your watermelon to something else at the last minute of the last round and steal an easy 20 points from Apples or Oranges. BUT I still don't think you played badly, just a little too trusting and got landed with a few bad people for that. If you'd gotten different fruit and more trustworthy people you likely wouldn't have even been in the death match at all |
